Jamila was born in Syria, a country that has been torn apart by many years of civil war. One day, Jamila suffered from a massive stroke. One of the most respected neurologist in Syria said it was due to a ruptured blood vessel, a preventable problem that could have been avoided if Jamila had taken blood pressure medicine. Although Jamila was in a coma, she was able to hear people nearby. She heard what the doctor told her family, he said there was nothing that could be done and that it would be best to prepare for her funeral arrangements in the next couple of days. This devastated Jamila internally. Nothing more did she desire than peace from God because of the constant war surrounding her.
Then Jesus appeared before Jamila. Jesus said he brought the peace she sought for and touched her hand to heal her paralysis. Slowly she started feeling different parts of her body and finally she opened her eyes. Jamila heard her dad claim 'Allah U Akbar!' but Jamila instead thanked Jesus out loud. This created a deafening silence in the room, but it didn’t last long because it was quickly interrupted by an exploding bomb outside.
The family decided to leave the country. They decided to cross the south border to Jordan because the northern border was too dangerous due to the ongoing war with Turkey. One day in the market Jamila saw a woman wearing a cross. Jamila followed her and talked to her. Her name was Maria. Jamila asked Maria to tell her more about Jesus. Maria did and encouraged Jamila to share her new faith in Jesus with her whole family. Jamila witnessed to her family, and even her father that originally gave credit to Allah, couldn’t help but accept Jesus as his Saviour! Jamila's healing miracle brought her entire family to Jesus. Watch her amazing testimony here.
'Cipher' is from a Syrian Arab descent and grew up in a Muslim community in the US. He started to get serious in his faith and became solely Qur'an oriented, meaning he would only accept the Haddiths, writings about the daily practices of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, that supported the Qur'an. Cipher questioned the rituals of Islam. He also questioned why did Arab Muslims hate Jewish people, when their prayer form is so similar to one another?
It was Cipher’s interest to watch videos from Christian apologists like Rob Christian, Godlogic, David Woods and Christian Prince. The idea that the Qur'an is not preserved challenged him deeply. So Cipher looked at the oldest Sana' manuscripts of the Qur'an, dated late 7th century. He surprisingly found out that they do not coincide with the Arabic text today. Not only did the original text lack vowels, but it also had noticeable differences in the wording, where some words where changed and in others they are omitted all together. This naturally defied the true preservation claim of the Qur’an, and it was a big red flag for Cipher.
He then looked into the genealogy of Jesus Christ in the Qur'an. David Wood and Apostate Prophet had a video that discussed this. How is it possible for Aaron, the brother of Moses, to be the uncle of Jesus? Cipher could not resolve this. How can Mariam in the OT be mixed with Mary the mother of Jesus in the NT, when they are over a thousand years apart? This was another very problematic red flag for Cipher.
He concluded that the divine claim of the Qur'an itself, couldn't be true. There are no true recorded miracles within the Qur’an. It has some relatively good passages, but it was very hard to accept it as divine because of the glaring red flags he had found. So Cipher worked on Qur'an apologetics and decided to purchase a Bible. He went straight to the New Testament, starting from the gospel of Matthew. Cipher immediately tears as he recalled this point in his life seeking God. He felt that all the questions he once had about prayer, fasting, and adultery were clearly answered by Jesus’ teachings. Yet Cipher still had a big problem with the Christian belief of the trinity, God being three persons in one.
He sensed Jesus speaking to him, telling him to focus in the heart. It's about faith, and not works. Jesus was more personal, more inward focused. Cipher got his then Muslim wife an Arabic Bible. She also loved the teaching as he did.
Cipher has had sleep paralysis problems for many years. Some see it as a medical condition, yet others believe it is spiritual in nature. Cipher felt a dark figure entity attacking him during his sleep paralysis. Cipher would often wake up the whole household because these ultra-realistic nightmares made him scream out uncontrollably. The next time Cipher was attacked, he instinctively decided to call the name of Jesus for help. And when the nightmare started, he did and Jesus was there to help him. And another attack happened again, and Cipher again called on the name of Jesus, and there was Jesus. He couldn't see his face, but he saw a smile. Jesus said he would be ok, but that he would need to go through this. Then Jesus lifted his eyes like a cross and then disappeared as Cipher woke up. Continue listening to his story here!
Is it impossible for a person who memorized the Qur’an (Hafiz) to follow Jesus?
Haitham was born in Damascus, Syria. He came from a very devote Muslim family. As a young boy, he would imitate everything his father did. He was very zealous for his belief and memorized the entire Qur'an by heart as a teenager. He did have some questions about his beliefs but every time he asked, he was quickly punished for doubting.
Later in life, Haitham moved to England. Because atrocities committed by some Muslims brought shame to him, Haitham decided to become more of a closet Muslim. He would still continue to pray regularly five times a day and fast through Ramadan. Eventually, Haitham got married to a Christian woman.
Then an unexpected illness suddenly struck Haitham 7 years later. Because the shingle virus was eating up his optic nerve, he started to lose his eyesight. The outlook given by the doctors was very gloomy. They expected the virus to attack the brain and possibly also advancing to eat the other optic nerve in his other eye. The doctor said the likelihood of him even surviving through the night was very slim. And even if he did somehow survive, they would likely have to induce a coma to slow the virus down.
Haitham wanted to be left alone following the terrible news he received. He was done. He had been successful at work and it all didn’t matter it wouldn’t stop him from becoming a vegetable. He closed his eyes praying and said, 'Allah, take me. I'm done'. And then he felt a hand on his chest. He opened his eyes and saw a bright figure. The figure said 'I'm Yeshua'. Haitham ask, 'Which Yeshua?' The bright figure answered 'The only Yeshua, the Messiah from Nazareth. The one who died on the cross for you and raised from the dead. And is now in heaven. I am the Alpha and the Omega. I have loved you before you were born.' Haitham thought this Yeshua must have gotten the wrong zip code, since he's been a Muslim for fifty years! But Yeshua was looking at him through his whole life. Yeshua patiently answered every question Haitham had, specifically that which is in conflict with what the Qur'an says about Jesus. Yeshua told him that no one can take away his deity.
Following this vision, Haitham proclaimed Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. Unexpectedly, Haitham also started to feel better. The hospital staff were all amazed when they saw that he was somehow able to leave the hospital by himself only two days later. When he saw his wife he told her that he had become a Christian. She was overjoyed, for she had been praying for Haitham for seven years and the Lord finally answered her prayer.
Haitham lamented memorizing the Qur'an for the wrong belief. Now he is working on memorizing the Bible. There's been seven to eight attempts to kill him so far, but they’ve all been unsuccessful thus far. Listen to Haitham's amazing testimony for yourself.
Syrian woman accept Jesus as her Saviour!
Amy is originally from Syria, born to a Muslim household. Growing up, she had many questions. Why as a woman, was she inferior in her culture and had no certainty of going to Heaven? When she got married, her husband repeatedly abused her. She ended up getting a divorce and became depressed. If she had the strength to commit suicide, she certainly would have.
At the time, her co-worker invited her to attend church and she decided to go. Given her background, Amy simply couldn't understand how Jesus could be the Son of God, while being God and being man. It was very confusing for her altogether. If this was true, she needed God to show her the proof.
Over time, Amy developed painful gallbladder stones. She was also facing a stressful financial situation at the time, and had no one to take of her. She was in dire loneliness. Knowing that Jesus had healed many in the past according to the Bible, she asked Jesus to heal her if He was true. And then a bright light appeared by her bedside. And then the bright figure said: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest". She was amazed when she found out that these words are actually written in the Bible, in the gospel of Matthew Chapter 11, verse 28. There was no denying of the true identity of Jesus following the vision. It made Amy feel sinful, just as she understood how Jesus was holy.
Miraculously, when the doctors did a pre-surgery scan, the gallbladder stones were gone! So not only did the vision answer the spiritual longing that Amy had, but God healed her from her painful ailment. Listen to her testimony here.
