Marjan was born in Iran. She was a devout Muslim, of the majority Twelver Shi'ism. She would never miss daily prayers and fasting. She wanted to follow Allah religiously to the tee in all that she did.
She later moved to Germany, which was a very lonely and depressing time for her. She even contemplated suicide. She met a Christian lady there who told her about Jesus. Marjan desired the peace and joy her friend had following Jesus, but Jesus was only a prophet for her. Marjan accepted prayer, because she desired the peace that she lacked. That same evening she slept really well and had great peace. In the morning, as she was getting breakfast at a cafeteria in the refugee camp, she said to herself: Jesus, if you are God, I believe in you. That's when she felt her whole body tingle as if rain was pouring all over her.
That night, her daughter had a dream. The dream was very unique, as she dreamt that in the darkness she saw a light. And the light said that 'I am a thief, I come to steal you'. How can a thief be light? But when Marjan shared this dream with her Christian friend, she was shocked to learn that there's a similar verse in the Bible where Jesus said He is coming like a thief in the night on the Day of Judgment. The dream was a confirmation for Marjan that believing in Jesus was the right choice and had no further doubts.
Marjan has a simple request to anyone watching her testimony: simply let go of your prejudices. Many people have a fixed idea of who Jesus is and are unwilling to let go of that mindset. This is the verse from the Bible she wants to share with people:
Isaiah 40:28-31
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.

Shah was born and raised as a Shia Muslim originally from northwest Iran. His mother tongue is Azeri which is spoken in Azerbaijan, but he also learned Farsi, the Iranian national language. He followed the Muslim rituals because he wanted to avoid hell. But it did not give him any peace. He disliked having to regurgitate prayers in Arabic, a foreign language that he wasn't familiar with.
Over time, there was a Christian acquaintance that told him, did you know that Jesus loves you? That touched Shah, but he felt unworthy of God’s love. This Christian man kept on showing him unconditional love and inviting Shah to church. Shah had never gone to church. But after declining multiple times, Shah finally went and was immediately surprised at the worship that took place at that church. Shah read the lyrics of the songs being played. Then he mediated on what he heard, that Jesus is the prince of peace. It was then that Shah had a vision seeing his life story in a minute, all in black and white images. And he realized that in his life, he had not found any peace and it made Shah weep. Then he heard and re-read the words from Matthew 6:33 – “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you”. He had never read a Bible before. But the words of that verse blew him away with God's peace. Every day he asked God for peace and his prayer was answered.
Shah started to compare the Bible and the Qur'an. He found out that there was actually no comparison because the Bible was far superior. Shah fell in love with Jesus' teachings. Although Shah found peace in Christ, he struggled with the concept of the trinity, that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit where three in one. He then received a dream, and saw that he was dead and inside a casket. Then he saw a cross making him alive. It was then that Shah realized that Jesus Christ to be his Lord and Saviour. The dream was clear. Shah was dead, but the cross brought him to life. This dream was a definitive answer to Shah's prayer. Listen to Shah's testimony here!
Persian woman dreams about Jesus!
Fatima was born to a Muslim family in Iran. Allah was the only God that she ever knew at the time. But Allah was a distant creator, never a personal God. She had a big burden within her that she felt wouldn't go away no matter what she did. She needed to know God more deeply. So Fatima kept on seeking for God and was desperately in tears looking for the real God that would answer her by looking at the sun or even reading coffee grounds. Until one day, she had a dream of her walking in a garden together with someone she somehow knew it was Jesus. In the dream, Jesus asked her, do you want to follow me? Fatima didn't really understand what He meant. How could she follow someone whom she knew only as a prophet that lived two thousand years ago? It really didn’t make sense to her.
Fatima later on moved to the US. She continued to have dreams of attending either old churches or modern churches with her family. She had a friend that accepted Jesus and he shared with her the peace and joy that he had found in Christ. She wanted what her friend had.
One day she went to a church. And someone asked her if she believed Jesus is God. Despite this going completely against Islam, Fatima accepted because she didn’t see it as a big commitment. Fatima knew she would sooner or later find out if Jesus was not really God eventually if He indeed wasn’t. So she prayed and accepted Jesus. When she did, the burden she lived with for many years, finally went away. She has yet to find any good factual evidence that Jesus is not God. Fatima has shared her faith with her family and today, Fatima's mother, brother and two sisters are also following Jesus. Listen to her testimony!
