Hesham Shehab is from Lebanon, born to a Sunni Muslim family. One time as a teenager, he and his older brother met a Muslim Brotherhood recruiter. The recruiter talked about establishing Islam throughout the world, and it made sense to them. They felt it was the duty of real Muslims to convert or subjugate all infidels. After 2 years of training and fighting, Lebanon broke out into a civil war. Hesham wanted to fight, but not to kill innocent people. He just wanted to defend innocent Muslims against invaders. So instead, the Muslim brotherhood enrolled Hesham to train with a Syrian man for 6 years to become an Islamic preacher within the Muslim brotherhood.
Two weeks before he started his Islamic preaching career, however, he got into a severe car accident that broke both his legs and he was bed ridden for one year. He learned English while recovering and initiated studies to get him into medical school. During this period, his brother was killed by Christian militia.
Hesham was full of hatred and desired revenge. He had a gun and a silencer ready for action. But at the time, he was enrolled in a course that was talking about religious history. The professor used the Sermon of the Mount to teach the section of the New Testament. There, Hesham was taught that Jesus said - 'Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you'. Hesham thought this was ridiculous at the time, but it challenged him. Hesham had memorized over half of the Qur'an, but didn't see Jesus' teachings there. So he decided to study the teachings of Jesus and compared the Bible and the Qur'an. He concluded that Jesus was the truth, but he found it hard to accept. Over time he did, and he worked on being a peacemaker between the Christian and Muslim militia. He was invited to preach at a five hundred people convention. He portrayed Jesus as a 'Ghandi', a peacemaker between Muslims and Christians. The success fed Hesham's ego. He wanted to continue as a moderate Muslim trying to bridge the gap between the groups.
But that's when he got a powerful vision of light. Jesus told him to seek him among the living, not among the dead. Jesus is not a Ghandi, He is a Saviour.
Hesham realized his mistake in the identity of Jesus. There was an exclusivity to Jesus, and he could either follow Him or he didn’t. So he quit his job to dedicate in fully serving Jesus as a pastor. Watch his full story here.
This is the story of Dan El-Ayache, a Lebanese American man born in Saudi Arabia in the eighties because of the ongoing civil war in his home country at the time. He was part of the small Druze sect of Islam.
His dad has gone to Mecca and took part in the Hajj pilgrimage. His mother studied sharia law in Saudi Arabia. Around 2011, when he got married to his wife of a Shia Muslim background, he started to become very devout in Druze Islam for 5 years - fasting and praying. He was not as devout when he was in Saudia Arabia because he felt slightly repelled due to the continuous enforcement of the religious police there.
On the great night of power called Laylat-al-qadr, where he believed he would get more blessing by praying to Allah at the mosque, he was listening to the Sheikh speak. But all Dan could focus on were the few dark passages in the Qur'an that he struggled with. People told him he needed to know Arabic to fully understand these passages. But Dan, was fully fluent in Arabic since he was a child and still struggled with them.
This struggle made him fall back into becoming a cultural Muslim for 6-7 years. He no longer prayed nor fasted, but only said the right things when asked.
On January 2023, Dan had a dream/vision that shook him. He saw a huge angel talking to him. Although the angel spoke a language he was not familiar with, he could understand because the angel was showing him things images of his past. Right after that dream/vision, he had a couple of more dreams but this time, notably evil encounters as he was being lured with money. The experience led him to go back to prayer and reading the Arabic Qur'an that he knew even though this hadn’t really helped him in the past.
Dan's daughter's health deteriorated at that time from a limp to being in a wheelchair. As Dan read Surah Maryam, about the birth of Jesus, he felt he needed to read the original story in the New Testament in the Bible. He listened to it in Arabic, and the gospel of Matthew left a deep impression on him.
Dan had another vision where he was picked up and flew over the cross. Her daughter was feeling worse and worse. Dan broke down in tears when her daughter thanked him for helping her when she most needed. Then he remembered Jesus saying that anything you ask in His name, would be given to him. So Dan prayed for his daughter's healing. Then next day, Dan had to go on a plane. As he was on the plane, he received a text message from his wife and attached was a video of his daughter walking! The same daughter that was in pain in a wheelchair was miraculously walking!
The dreams, the visions, the miraculous healing, all pointed Dan into receiving Jesus as His personal Saviour. Later on his wife follow suit. Listen to his amazing story here.
Jihadist saved!
Kamal was a very devoted Muslim from Lebanon. He learned about Jihad when he was very young. He felt that Allah had chosen him to go the US to make cultural Jihad by recruiting people into Islam. But plans changed as he got into a major car accident that even broke parts of his neck. The event placed his life in the hands of the people he hated the most. But each of the Christian doctors that helped him told him: "Don't worry, we are going to take care of you. Everything is going to be alright". Counterintuitively, these statements originally scared Kamal very much, because in terrorism, these words have a very different connotation. “Taking care of someone” meant killing someone in Kamal’s understanding. But that was certainly not the case.
The injury was so severe that even after being discharged from the hospital, he needed to be cared for. Yet Kamal had no one to turn to, which placed him in a great dilemma. Surprisingly, his Christian orthopedic surgeon opened his own house to Kamal and even gave him the best room in his home for him to recover. The outpour of love by Christians was simply unbelievable.
Once Kamal was able to look after himself, he left. But in Kamal’s last day with the surgeon’s family, the surgeon had one last surprise for him. Kamal was entrusted with keys to the house and was blessed with keys to a car.
Kamal went home devastated. He needed to settle things with Allah. He needed an answer from Allah just as Christians heard from their God. But Allah never said anything to him. The lack of answers in Islam led Kamal to question his own faith, which turned into a desire to commit suicide. Just before this happened, he heard a voice calling him. It said “Why don't you call on the God of father Abraham?” The source of the voice came into the room. He had holes in his hand, and his name is Jesus. He is the alpha and omega, beginning and end. He knew Kamal before the foundation of the Earth and even when he was still in his mother's womb.
Because of this encounter, Kamal wanted to live and die for Jesus. Jesus said, He died for him so that he could live. Today, threats of violence and death cannot stop Kamal sharing his story. Listen to this amazing testimony here!
Lebanese man is saved!
Hassan was born and raised as a Muslim in Lebanon. Sadly, his mom was often beaten and abused by his father. Soon after being born, his father moved to Toronto, Canada. Eventually, the rest of the family followed him and also moved to Toronto, but the beatings got even worse. It was a very difficult and stressful time for the family as Hassan’s mother would take multiple shifts just to make ends meet. Hassan’s father got very aggressive and in one instance he threatened to murder his own wife with a knife, but thankfully no one ended up hurt. So Hassan and his mother decided to move to Montreal to escape the habitual abuse.
Later on in life, Hassan started to dive deep into Islam, but he could not find any peace. No amount of praying or reading the Qur'an seemed to help. It only increased his fear towards Allah. Hassan often had nightmares with horrendous visions of hell that made him become suicidal. At the time, Hassan worked at a restaurant during the busy Ramadan season when he was 19. One day, a fight broke off in the kitchen where he witnessed the terrifying scene of an older brother slitting the throat of his own younger brother! This was obviously an immensely traumatic experience for Hassan, which intensified his depression. That is when he got a vision which he clearly recalls was not a dream. In that vision, Hassan was spiraling down to hell while nobody could hear his pleas for help. Then he heard a shout of an angel saying 'The Messiah is coming!' Given his Islamic background, he wondered if this could be the Mahdi from Islam. No, the description didn't really fit. Hassan's legs where paralyzed in his vision. The divine being came with power and it felt like every single one of his footsteps shook mountains. Then a bright light shone out of Him. Hassan immediately sensed this was not a man. This bright divine being said: 'Son, get up and walk'. The words spoke life into Hassan and he started to walk a bit, and right away he automatically fell down to worship this divine being. The voice then said, 'Son if you are looking for peace, you can find it in Me'.
Following this incident, Hassan counted eleven dreams of Judgment Day. The vision and dreams made him rethink his beliefs. He thought maybe God wanted him to become a Jew, but that door was promptly closed. Another ten years went by and Hassan became depressed once again, which led into drug abuse. He got into a relationship with a woman. During that time, his girlfriend got baptized. A few days after the baptism, Hassan remembers another vision that made him tear as he shared. He was driving his car and out of nowhere, he suddenly saw a red cross. At the time, Hassan cried for a very long time, maybe an hour. This love engulfed him with reassurance. Hassan felt guilty for all the bad things that he had ever done. After that experience, he met some people that invited him to a youth group meeting, and he agreed. He involuntarily screamed and asked Jesus to help him. Since then, Hassan has been following Jesus and sharing the gospel with those who are willing to hear. Listen to this powerful testimony.
