This is the testimony of Abrahim, a Sudanese man who grew up in a Muslim household. He shares his story with Brother Rachid, who hosts a Christian TV show called Al Hayat.
Abrahim grew up only knowing Jesus from what the Qur’an talked about. He had Christian friends, but they never told him about Jesus. Abrahim saw Christians as polytheistic infidels that believed in many gods. The idea of western movies tainted a bad picture of what Christianity was.
But Abrahim lived without peace and hope. Something in him wanted to read the Bible in Arabic. So he got a hold of one and started reading it. He was amazed how it was detailed and chronological. It talked about how God created the Heavens and the Earth. It talked about the Ten Commandments. He concluded that this had to come from God and he decided to follow the commandments. This also made Abrahim realize that he was a sinner.
The story of Abraham shocked him. The Qur’an says that the Hajj (Islamic pilgrimage) is done to commemorate that Abraham was going to sacrifice Ishmael, but God provided a lamb instead. The Bible said that it was Isaac whom Abraham was going to sacrifice, not Ishmael. So one of the books was wrong. How come the book that came earlier (two thousand years before the Qur’an), be wrong about the story?
So he cried out for the truth. He believed the Bible more, but the biggest problem/struggle was the trinity. That’s when Abrahim got a vision. In the vision, he saw Jesus as a very bright light. And Jesus said: “I and the Father are one. Whoever has seen me, has seen the Father, who was, who is and is to come. The Almighty. ” The vision shook Abrahim to his core. The vision helped him have no doubt that Christ is God and He incarnated in order to save us from our sins. Watch his amazing testimony here in Arabic with English subtitles.
This is the story of Hani, originally from Sudan (East Africa), now living in the UK for over 30 years. He grew up in a Muslim household. At a young age, Hani wondered about the character of God.
It started with a dream. In the dream, there was a voice that told him that there was a man that was to give him a message. He walked to the terrace of his mother-in-law, and saw the same man that he was to give a message to. Hani became emotional and couldn't even greet the person and started to cry. Later on, Hani asked his mother in law about the identity of this man. It turned out that he was a black American missionary that worked in Malawi. He later met the man and told him about the dream, and they both wept.
Hani kept on having dreams of Jesus. He could recognize the same voice and setting each time. Hani's wife had a Catholic background. One day, their son was participating in a Christmas play, and they asked Hani to attend. That's when he first stepped into a church and Hani agreed to join an Alpha course, where Christianity is introduced and he could ask questions about God. Interestingly, Hani dreamt about the Alpha course teacher before meeting him!
Hani had 3 outstanding issues. The first issue was, would God protect him? Because Hani knew that the consequence of leaving Islam would be death. He could no longer return to Sudan. And out of nowhere, God answered and encouraged Hani through a random person sending him a message. The second issue was, who is God? And the thought 'in the beginning' remained in Hani's mind. He found these to be the first words of the Gospel of John, where it talks about Jesus being the Word of God and being God. The third issue was that Hani wanted to follow a God that is alive. Hani knew he didn't want only someone that comes in dreams. And Jesus even answered that request by showing himself to Hani twice! Hani finally gave his life to Jesus, and later found out that his wife had been praying for him for 11.5 years. The power of prayer to Jesus has no match. Watch his amazing testimony here!
