This is the shared story of Bulbula and Adam from Ethiopia. Bulbula was a prominent Muslim leader in his community. But then, Bulbula started to have dreams and visions of Jesus Christ. In them, the Lord Jesus would reveal Himself and say "I am your Messiah". Bulbula was convinced that this was the truth. One day, a young man told him that God needed him and Bulbula followed him to a church. When they arrived, Bulbula noticed that the young man had left. At the church, all the pastors and elders where there.
Bulbula convinced them that he had decided to follow Jesus, but it took the church leaders time to accept that a known Muslim leader decided to follow Christ. Bulbula faced persecution - he was assaulted and his belongings were stolen. His own family even offered a reward to have Bulbula killed.
Adam is Bulbula’s cousin. Adam thought that Bulbula was a worthless infidel that left Islam. Adam was Bulbula's family, but also his enemy. This continued until Adam himself received a vision of the Lord Jesus Christ. Adam was convinced and also became a Christian. Adam also was persecuted. People stole his clothes, stole his oxen, destroyed his crops, and forced his wife to divorce him.
Now Bulbula and Adam, who at one point where enemies, are good friends. They have been persecuted much through the years. But they see persecution as something good, where they learn the truths of God. Now, they are good friends that do everything together and even share the gospel together. Haji Muhammad Achmed was a devout Muslim from Ethiopia. He got the 'Haji' title because he had participated in the Muslim pilgrimage. He was regarded as a leader in his Mosque. He even used to gather young men to beat up Christians as they were going to church. He recalls burning 7 Bibles, something he is remorseful of.
But one night, as Muhammad was sleeping, he had a dream. A voice in the dream said "Muhammad, Muhammad, come out of that cave/darkness and follow Me". Somehow, he knew it was the voice of the Christian God. After telling his mother about his dream, he was kicked out from his house. He did not intend to follow what the voice has asked him to do. Later on he got a second dream, and he heard the same voice of God, but this time it sounded angrier than before. Muhammad still refused to listen, and after that he got very sick. He tried getting help from many hospitals, but it was to no avail.
Muhammad knew about some missionaries that lived nearby. He decided to go to talk to them, and they shared the gospel with him. On the same day he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour for the forgiveness of sins, he was healed of his illness miraculously.
He, along with a now Christian friend he had beat up before his conversion, received training with AIMS (Accelerated International Mission Strategies), to reach other parts of his home country Ethiopia with the power of the Gospel. Listen to his short 3 minute testimony here!
Fatuma is a mother of nine children living in a small village in Ethiopia. At one point, she got very ill for two months and one day when her mother came to see her, she was found dead. Fatuma was raised as a Muslim, but had converted to Christianity. Many of Fatuma's relatives who were Muslim were weeping and wailing after Fatuma's death.
While this mourning period was taking place, a Christian missionary called Warsaw walking by. What nobody knew was that when Warsaw accepted Jesus as his Saviour, God told him that He would use him to revive people from the dead. So when Warsaw found himself in this situation, his instinct was to pray for Fatuma.
Meanwhile, Fatuma's soul was lifted high. She met some people that she knew from before and was welcomed to a place she described as Heaven. People were dressed in gold, and it was a very beautiful place. Those that knew her were pleading to let Fatuma go back because she was too young.
Then suddenly, Fatuma was brought back to life and she sat up on her bed. Her whole family was amazed. They concluded that the God that Warsaw prayed to, must be a very powerful God. So many people present that were mourning for Fatuma, instead saw an incredible miracle from God. Watch her testimony here!
This is the story of Mohammed Amen who was raised with a Muslim upbringing in Ethiopia. When he was born, his mother had promised to dedicate her son to serve God. So from a young age, Mohammed went to do Quranic studies and learned Arabic. He excelled in his studies and received a scholarship to go to Saudi Arabia to become a Sheikh, an Islamic teacher.
Mohammed was very well respected as the Sheikh of a large Mosque in his native country. But then, Mohammed got ill. He lost so much weight that he was almost beyond recognition. He learned that it was because he had contracted AIDS. Even though externally he appeared to be a highly moral, respected Sheikh, that was far from the truth. Mohammed regularly slept with prostitutes, which led to the deadly disease he contracted. As a result, Mohammed was bed ridden for four months. His family was even told to prepare for his funeral.
But then, one night, Mohammed had a vision where he saw a bright light figure. It was Jesus wearing doctor clothes. Jesus said: 'Mohammed, rise up!' This left Mohammed confused. He mentally understood he was simply too weak to get up. Then Jesus touched his sick body and Mohammed instantly felt as if his frail body was starting to heal. Miraculously, within a week of the vision, he was unexpectedly able to walk. He went through a series of tests to check his medical condition. And the tests that had previously shown AIDS fully attacking his body, now miraculously showed no sign of AIDS. Mohammed was unexplainably healed!
From this experience, Mohammed knew Jesus was certainly more than any prophet. Mohammed knew the true identity of Jesus, He was the one and only Son of God. So Mohammed decided to follow Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. Today, Mohammed is an evangelist. He goes to small tribes in Ethiopia to share his amazing testimony so that others may know who Jesus is.

An entire Ethiopian village decides to follow Jesus!
Abdu got a dream about Jesus when he was 16 after reading from a borrowed Bible. Suleiman and Salima, Abdu's parents, were fundamentalist Muslims. Because of Abdu’s change of heart regarding the identity of Jesus following the dream, his neighbours and village leaders started to show hatred towards him and he even got attacked. People from the village were about to take full measure of judgement according to Islam’s laws for apostasy and were going to murder Abdu. Even Abdu's own father wanted him killed. Thankfully and miraculously, Abdu was spared and he was exiled to another village. There, he worked at a church as a security guard. During this time, Abdu read hundreds of books about Christianity in order to learn more about Jesus.
Abdu's mother heard Abdu was no longer drinking alcohol and exceled in good works, which was completely the opposite of what his peers back home were doing. So Abdu’s mother secretly went to see her son because she missed him dearly. The radical change in Abdu’s character was so evident that she started to consider the Christian belief that was foreign to her. This was the start of a ten year process that led her to also believe in Jesus as her Saviour. Changes in both of their characters ultimately softened the heart of Abdu's father Suleman, and a year after that, Abdu’s father also decided to follow Jesus!
