Najib was born and raised as a typical Muslim from Egypt, fasting and praying five times a day.
At a young age, he got involved with some extremist groups that where only interested in killing and violence. There was zero forgiveness. An inner voice told him that this was wrong, so he decided to leave that group.
He had big questions about the Qur'an. How can the same book say that Allah is the god of peace, also say that Allah is the great deceiver? No religious leader could answer his question. He was only encouraged not to doubt. This left him unsatisfied.
Life got darker for Najib. He stopped praying and fasting, and even doubted the existence of God as an atheist. Najib then got very sick for five weeks. Then one night he received a special dream. In it, he saw a cross. There was a voice telling him to get up from his sickness. He asked who it was, and the voice replied 'I am your Lord, Jesus Christ'. The dream left a deep impression in Najib’s heart.
One day, he found the Kingdom Sat channel where Pastor Michael Yousef was preaching. He was talking about God's love, forgiveness and mercy. He was talking from the same Bible that he was taught to hate and reject. He decided to call the number displayed in that TV channel and asked for a Bible. After reading and learning more about God’s word, Najib stopped believing in Islam altogether, had no doubts about the existence of God, and became a follower of Jesus.
Eventually, over time, His parents found out about his decision to follow Christ. When his mother found out, she went to grab a knife from the kitchen with the intention to stab him. She spat on his own son Najib after injuring him. Najib then decided to go to live with a brother in Christ. Listen to Najib's story here.
Egyptian saved!
Majed grew up in Egypt. He struggled with his own Islamic background beliefs because he saw the principles and values of Christians being peaceful in nature. Majed questioned himself what truth did they have that Muslims didn't want him to hear?
When Majed understood the sacrifice that Jesus did for him, he accepted Him as his Saviour. Majed started a Bible school and an underground church. His friend took a bullet for him and saved his life. Only a few short days later, Majed was arrested. He was tortured and imprisoned in a place known as 'Hell on Earth'.
He recalls being hung upside down, and even had his toe nails brutally ripped off. He was living in total darkness, and could only hear the screams of others around him being tortured. Because Majed would not volunteer any information, they finally decided to bring in dogs. Majed could only hold his head down, bracing for the assault. When nothing happened, he lifted his head up and only saw the three dogs sitting before him, unable to attack. The infuriated jailers brought three other dogs instead, but the result was still the same, the dogs would not attack Majed.
Although Majed was alone, he did not feel lonely. God must have sent an angel to be there with him. Majed concluded that the vicious dogs must have seen something that no person could see, which prevented them from attacking.
Later on, Majed miraculously left the Egyptian torture chamber and fled the country to Israel as a political refugee. Today, Majed lives in Canada and fights for the cause of religious persecution of minorities to give justice and protection to the oppressed. Watch this amazing testimony here.
Tortured for following Jesus Christ!
Mohammed is from Egypt, raised in a strong Muslim household. Mohammed originally wanted to go to a church with a Christian friend for sole purpose of mocking Christianity. Mohammed thought Christianity equated to Hollywood, which in his mind is simply a group of sinful and idolatrous people that were destined for Hell. He thought Christianity was all about women, liquor and immoral behavior. But Mohammed's experience was radically different from what he had expected. After the sermon, the preacher started praying. Everyone closed their eyes and the prayer started with the words "Our Father in Heaven". Mohammed immediately started laughing because in his original Islamic belief, God cannot be a Father. And just then, Mohammed vividly sensed the presence of God with his arm around him and His face beside his. A voice then told him, "Yes, I am your daddy." Mohammed thought to himself, I didn't know God is my daddy! Everything changed after that, and he decided to follow Christianity.
Mohammed started sharing his new faith with everyone he met in a bus and to taxi drivers. Unfortunately, one of the taxi drivers he shared the gospel with betrayed him and the police arrested Mohammed. A half hour trip to the station was what the secret police told him it would take, ended up becoming 8 months in solitary confinement. But during this time, Mohammed was able to share the gospel with many people in prison and even to some of the highest ranking officials.
Finally he was freed, even though he was told he would be imprisoned for life. Mohammed then got married and had a child, Joshua. As Joshua was learning to walk, he accidentally fell into a pool, where he drowned and was pronounced dead. Mohammed grieved as he saw the wrapped up body of his dead son before him. Then, he sensed God telling him that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Mohammed recalled that Jesus was able to resurrect the dead many times. So Mohammed, trusting Jesus divine power, prayed for Joshua and his son suddenly started screaming inside the body bag. Joshua was immediately rushed to the hospital. The doctors gave a very grim outlook and told Mohammed that Joshua would certainly have brain damage and become a vegetable. Mohammed response was once again to pray. This time, he promised to go anywhere with the gospel, if Jesus would heal his son fully. Miraculously, God answered Mohammed’s prayer and Joshua was fully healed!
Mohammed felt God directing him to go to an extremist Muslim area in Kenya, where no police or military would dare to operate. It was known as an exceedingly dangerous area. Hundreds of people were about to kill him for proselytizing, until he proved to the mob that the Qur’an itself says the Bible is the true word of God. The angry crowd became peaceful following this revelation. God not only protected Mohammed from a exceptionally dangerous situation, but also allowed many extremist Muslims to hear the gospel and received Bibles.
After reading how Daniel from the Old Testament loved, believed and trusted God, and after knowing what Jesus the Messiah had done for him, Mohammed changed his name to Daniel Abdil Messiah. Because he wants to be a servant of Jesus Christ the Messiah. Daniel's new motto is: “You work with God, God will protect you. “
For Mohammed's (now Daniel’s) spectacular story, watch it here.
This Egyptian man born in Canada has a short message to share. He used to pray to Allah every morning and followed Islam. Some friends told him about Jesus, yet he couldn't comprehend the gospel given his Muslim background. Secular Canadian atheists encouraged him to leave his Islamic religion, and the truths about Islam made him leave his religion. But atheism brought about the darkest years of his life.
Then a dream started to change everything. In that dream, he recalls seeing a bloody Jesus on a cross that somehow gave him peace. A little after that dream, he was invited to dinner with a group of Christians. He was surprised that in that gathering, they simply read God's word with joy and sang worship songs to praise God. The environment touched him deeply. Shortly after, he decided to follow Jesus and has never looked back. Listen to his message and see if you can relate with his experience from Islam to Christ!
This is the story of Kareem from Egypt. He was a very religious Muslim, a very conservative fundamentalist Salafi Muslim. He was raised with a zealous desire to die in Jihad for Allah. The opportunity came to do that during the US war in Iraq, but something went wrong last minute and the suicide bomber attack was called off. That drove Kareem deep into depression. It was as if Allah had denied his sacrifice because the Islamic god did not see him worthy. Because of this, Kareem started to look into other beliefs including atheism, pantheism, and agnosticism. In his lowest point, Jesus came to him not just in one dream, but in three dreams to confirm his doubt.
Today Kareem has changed his name to Tomas Samuel and is a faithful follower of Jesus Christ saved by the grace of God. He reaches his Egyptian people with Arabic, to teach them about the hope he has found in Christ. Listen to his amazing story here.

How can a man change from desiring to sacrifice his life by killing others in Jihad for Allah, to turning 180 degrees to share the love of Jesus instead?
Interestingly, this is one of MANY such examples. Khalil, the extremist Jihadist from Egypt portrayed from 'More Than Dreams' is not alone. Kareem and many others made the turnaround. What is not impossible with man, it's possible with God.
