Majed grew up in Egypt. He struggled with his Islamic background belief. He saw the principles and values of Christians that were peaceful. What truth did they have that Muslims didn't want him to hear?
Majed saw the sacrifice of Jesus and accepted Him as his Saviour. He started a bible school and underground church. His friend took a bullet from him and saved his life. Days later, Majed was arrested. So he was tortured at a placed known as 'Hell on Earth'.
He was hung upside down, had his toe nails ripped off. He was living in darkness, and could only hear the screams of those being tortured. Finally, they decided to bring in dogs. Majed held his head down, bracing for the assault. The 3 dogs sat before him, and couldn't attack. Then they brought 3 other dogs, and it was a similar result.
He was alone, but not lonely. Someone was there with him. The vicious dogs probably saw something no person could see - perhaps a vision.
Later on, Majed miraculously left Egypt and was a political refugee in Israel. Today he lives in Canada and fights for the cause of religious persecution of minorities and to give justice and protection to the oppressed.
Mohammed is from Egypt. He wanted to go to a church with a Christian friend with the purpose of mocking Christianity. Mohammed thought Christianity was Hollywood. He thought it was all about women, liquor and sinful behavior. But Mohammed's experience was very different. After the sermon, the preacher started praying. Everyone closed their eyes and the prayer started ... "Our Father in Heaven ...". Then Mohammed started laughing because God cannot be a Father. And just then, Mohammed sensed the presence of God with his arm around him and face beside his face. He heard "Yes, I am your daddy." Mohammed said - I didn't know God is my daddy! Everything changed after that.
Mohammed started sharing his new faith with everyone - within buses and taxis. A taxi driver betrayed him and the police took Mohammed. A 1/2 hour trip the secret police said it would take, became 8 months in solitary confinement. But he ended up sharing the gospel with many people in prison and even the most high ranking officials.
Finally he was freed, even though he was told he would be imprisoned for life. Mohammed got married and had a child, Joshua. There was an accident where Joshua was learning to walk, fell into the pool, drowned and died. Then God told him Jesus is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Mohammed prayed for Joshua and he started screaming inside the body bag. The doctors at the hospital said Joshua would have brain damage and become a vegetable. Mohammed promised to go anywhere with the gospel if Jesus would heal his son. And a miracle happened and Joshua was fully healed!
Mohammed went to a Muslim area in Kenya, where no police or military operate. An extremely dangerous area. Hundreds of people where going to kill him until he told them that the Quran itself says the Bible is the true word of God. God protected Mohammed from a dangerous situation and many Muslims heard the gospel and received Bibles.
After seeing how Daniel loved, believed and trusted God. After knowing what Jesus the Messiah has done for him, Mohammed changed his name to Daniel Abdil Messiah. Because he wants to be a servant of Jesus Christ the Messiah. This is Daniel's new motto: You work with God, God will protect you.
This Egyptian man born in Canada has a short message to share. He used to pray to Allah every morning and followed Islam. Some friends told him about Jesus, yet he couldn't comprehend the gospel. Secular Canadian atheists encouraged him to leave his religion, and he truths about Islam made him leave his religion. Atheism brought about the darkest years of his life.
Then a dream started to change things. A dream with a bloody Jesus on a cross that somehow gave him peace. And later on, he was invited to dinner with a group of Christians that simply had joy reading God's word and singing worship songs of praise. The environment touched him greatly. He decided to follow Jesus and has never turned back. Listen to his message and see if you can relate with his experience!
This is the story of Kareem, who now lives by the name Tomas Samuel. He was a very religious Muslim, a Salafi Muslim. He was raised with a desire to die in Jihad for Allah. The opportunity came to do that during the US war on Iraq, but something went wrong last minute. That drove Tomas to depression. He seeked atheism, pantheism, agnosticism. In his lowest point, Jesus came to him not just in 1 dream, but in 3 dreams to confirm his doubt.
Today Tomas is a faithful follower of Jesus saved by the grace of God. He reaches his Egyptian people with Arabic, to teach them about the hope we've found in Christ. Praise God!
