Ramadan 2026 - Borderless Canada Prayer Guide

 Karina is a young Algerian woman from Kabylie who arrived in Montreal in 2024 with her husband and their 1-year-old son. Coming from a traditional Muslim family, Karina had an arranged marriage. When she arrived in Canada, she didn't know anyone. She took French classes at an immigrant center and it was here that she met her teacher – a Christian woman from my church. She put me in touch with Karina, whom I was able to visit several times and help her with learning French. She lives in the same neighborhood as me! Having no family or friends here, a friendship gradually developed. I had opportunities to talk to her about Jesus and gave her a little book with the Sermon on the Mount in Arabic and French, which she assured me she wanted to read.

1. Pray for more opportunities to show Karina the love of Jesus during my visits and that she will discover that He is the way, the truth, and the life.
2. Pray that she will attend the French classes I teach at a church so she can meet other Christians. Also pray for her integration in Quebec and for her to learn the language and culture.
3. Pray that I will be faithful and persistent in my relationship with her throughout this year.

  Karina est une jeune femme algérienne de Kabylie arrivée à Montréal en 2024 avec son mari et leur fils d’un an. Issue d’une famille musulmane traditionnelle, Karina a eu un mariage arrangé. À son arrivée au Canada, elle ne connaissait personne. Elle a suivi des cours de français dans un centre pour immigrants, et c’est là qu’elle a rencontré son enseignante — une chrétienne de mon église.

Cette enseignante m’a mise en contact avec Karina, que j’ai pu visiter à plusieurs reprises pour l’aider à apprendre le français. Elle habite dans le même quartier que moi ! N’ayant ni famille ni amis ici, une amitié s’est progressivement développée. J’ai eu l’occasion de lui parler de Jésus et je lui ai donné un petit livre contenant le Sermon sur la montagne en arabe et en français, qu’elle m’a assuré vouloir lire. 

 En effet, l'Éternel, votre Dieu, est le Dieu des dieux, le Seigneur des seigneurs, le Dieu grand, fort et redoutable. Il ne fait pas de favoritisme et n’accepte pas de pot-de-vin, il fait droit à l'orphelin et à la veuve, il aime l'étranger et lui donne de la nourriture et des vêtements.
