Ramadan 2026 - Borderless Canada Prayer Guide

  Through their university ministry at Acadia, Jay and Laura met Zubby, a Nigerian seminary student passionate about reaching newcomer youth. After volunteering as a chaplain at Camp Soar, he caught the vision for Gospel ministry among refugee and immigrant children. Now graduated and serving as a youth pastor in Halifax, Zubby called this past summer asking to volunteer again—this time with a strategic purpose. He wanted to build relationships with campers and invite them to join the youth ministry he leads. This fall, Zubby hosted a "Camp/Club Soar" outreach at his church, creating a pathway for young refugees to connect with a local church community led by someone who understands their African heritage. This emerging partnership represents a beautiful multiplication of ministry—African pastors reaching African youth, indigenous leadership rising, and the Gospel taking root in culturally relevant ways. What began as a friendship is becoming a sustainable movement.

  Grâce à leur ministère universitaire à Acadia, Jay et Laura ont rencontré Zubby, un étudiant nigérian en séminaire passionné par l’accompagnement des jeunes nouveaux arrivants. Après avoir fait du bénévolat comme aumônier au Camp Soar, il a saisi la vision d’un ministère évangélique auprès des enfants réfugiés et immigrants.

Aujourd’hui diplômé et servant comme pasteur jeunesse à Halifax, Zubby a appelé cet été pour offrir à nouveau son aide — cette fois avec un objectif stratégique. Il voulait créer des liens avec les campeurs et les inviter à rejoindre le ministère jeunesse qu’il dirige.

Cet automne, Zubby a organisé une action « Camp/Club Soar » dans son église, créant un chemin pour que les jeunes réfugiés se connectent à une communauté d’église locale dirigée par quelqu’un qui comprend leur héritage africain. Ce partenariat émergent représente une belle multiplication du ministère — des pasteurs africains atteignant la jeunesse africaine, un leadership indigène qui se lève, et l’Évangile qui prend racine de manière culturellement pertinente. Ce qui a commencé comme une amitié devient un mouvement durable. 

  Si quelqu'un parle, qu’il annonce les paroles révélées de Dieu; si quelqu'un accomplit un service, qu’il le fasse avec la force que Dieu communique, afin qu'en tout Dieu reçoive la gloire qui lui est due à travers Jésus-Christ.
